Are you a creative individual looking for an exciting career in education?

We are looking for a full time permanent teaching assistant who loves working with children. You will be supporting SEN Pupils who are Secondary aged, this position is supporting a small group of secondary pupils who have Autism and Asperger's the group are academically able and are studying to GCSE level. Some of the pupils do struggle with the social aspects of School life and we support them with this.

You will need to be:

  • Fun and creative, happy to get involved in creative subjects
  • Confident in supporting pupils to a GCSE level (under supervision of class teacher)
  • An excellent communicator
  • Someone who can think outside of the box
  • Have a resilient personality
  • Have some experience working with children previously
  • Available to start in September 2020

Responsibilities of the role involve:

  • Supporting Secondary aged pupils who have a range of special educational needs
  • Supporting pupils on a 1-1 basis where necessary
  • Learning about supporting pupils who have Aspergers effectively 
  • Working alongside other staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
  • Getting involved in a range of subjects including Art, DT, Outdoor Education, PE and Core Subjects

Ideally you will have experience within a care position or a school previously. Most importantly you will have a willingness to learn and be creative.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
