Teaching Assistant required to work at a local hospital.

The skilled and experienced team can typically work with up to 11 students per day and the students you support can change daily.

The education staff here provide for all young people of school age who have been admitted to hospital for various reasons. You will be required to work with students from a wide range of social, economic and ethnic backgrounds and a broad diversity of ability.

Teaching staff join medical staff on the morning ward round to assess which students could access the school service that day. A classroom environment is maintained for those able to attend and bedside teaching is available for those who are not well enough.

This role demands an extremely high degree of flexibility, capability and professionalism and the emotional ability to work in a highly sensitive setting.

Compassion, empathy and innovation are essential to deliver education successfully in an often-unpredictable hospital.

We require all applicants to have experience working with vulnerable children (special educational needs or medical needs).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
