We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Chester. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, initially running until the Summer holidays, with the potential for extension into the new academic year from September.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing across the school.


  • Supporting pupils individually and in small groups to enhance learning
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
  • Providing support to pupils with varying abilities, including SEN when required
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
  • Assisting with playground duties and school activities when required
  • Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times

  • Previous experience working with children in a Primary School or educational setting (preferred)
  • A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting learning
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting children’s education and development
  • Ability to work full-time until the Summer holidays
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
