Are you a patient, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child’s school experience?
We are working with a welcoming primary school in Cardiff looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil who experiences behavioural difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome challenges, build confidence and reach their full potential.

The Role:

  • Provide dedicated support to a Year 4 pupil, helping them manage their behaviour and engage positively with learning.
  • Build a trusting relationship with the pupil, offering consistent encouragement, guidance and reassurance throughout the school day.
  • Support emotional regulation and help the pupil develop positive coping strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to implement behaviour management strategies and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage the pupil to develop independence, social skills and positive relationships with peers.
  • Help create a calm, structured and supportive environment where the pupil feels safe and able to learn.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has experience working with children who display behavioural difficulties or emotional regulation challenges.
  • Is calm, patient, resilient and confident when managing challenging situations.
  • Can build positive relationships with children while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.
  • Has a proactive, nurturing approach and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Is reliable, committed and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Previous experience in a primary school or a similar support role would be highly beneficial, although we are keen to hear from candidates with the right attitude and transferable experience.

What's on Offer?
  • £93–£100 per day, depending on experience.
  • Full-time, term-time-only work.
  • A supportive primary school environment in Cardiff.
  • An opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child's development and education.
  • A start immediately after half term.
If you're someone who can bring patience, positivity and consistency to the classroom and would love the opportunity to support a child in reaching their potential, we'd love to hear from you!
