A welcoming and well-supported primary school in the Canton area is looking to appoint a passionate and motivated Teacher to join their Specialist Resource Base (SRB) team from September on a part-time, job-share basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly supportive environment alongside experienced staff, dedicated Teaching Assistants, and another SRB teacher who will provide ongoing collaboration and guidance.

The school has two SRB classes on site, each supporting up to 10 pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN). The provision opened at the start of the Academic Year, is extremely nurturing, and focused on helping every child thrive both academically and personally.

The school is easily accessible via public transport and also offers on-site parking.

The successful candidate will work Wednesday to Friday within one of the SRB classes, supporting pupils with varied ALN needs through engaging, adaptable, and child-centred teaching.

This role would suit:

  • Experienced SRB/SEN teachers
  • Mainstream primary teachers looking to transition into ALN
  • ECTs or teachers with limited SEN experience but a strong willingness to learn

Previous SEN/ALN experience is welcomed and valued, but it is not essential. The school is primarily seeking someone with positivity, resilience, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider SRB team
  • Supporting pupils' communication, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Monitoring progress and adapting support where required
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and staff
  • Supporting with personal care when needed
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, and adaptable
  • Have a nurturing and child-centred approach
  • Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care needs
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Bring energy, creativity, and commitment to the role

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a caring and collaborative school community where staff wellbeing and teamwork are highly valued.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ's on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
