Location: Bridgend, South Wales

Salary: £157.66 – 217.77 (Paid to scale)

Hours: Full-time Monday – Friday

Start Date: 3rd June (or ASAP after)

Contract: Permanent with agency (possibility to become permanent with school)


Teaching Personnel are seeking a qualified Design Technology teacher on behalf of one of our partner schools in the Bridgend area. The school have reached out to us to find them a suitable candidate to teach a full timetable throughout the final half term of the academic year, starting in June 2024.

The school provides ‘good’ education to around 1000 students of the local area across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5. DT traditionally has good uptake and engagement at KS3 & 4, with many pupils going on to vocational courses at the local college with good grades in DT.


Responsibilities and requirements:

  • Deliver high quality, well-planned practical and theoretical series of lessons to all Key Stages.
  • Ensure pupil safety is paramount when operating machinery.
  • Provide excellent learning opportunities and experiences for all abilities, showing differentiation for ALN & MAT pupils.
  • Experience of working with ALN pupils is desirable but not essential.
  • Work alongside staff in the department and wider area of learning and experience to produce and update curriculum materials.
  • Have excellent communication skills with pupils and colleagues alike.
  • Be motivational and inspirational to learners to maintain the school’s uptake of the subject in KS4.
  • Perform staff duties as per the schools’ requirements and policies.
