Teaching Assistant – Sports Specialism
Primary School
Monday to Friday (08:30am-15:00pm)
Pay rate: Between £12 and £14 per hour dependent on experience

A lovely primary school in the Barry area are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join Foundation Phase department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and inspirational team who care about the wellbeing of their pupils and will allow you to focus on using your sports specialism within an education setting. This is a full-time role during term time only and is perfect for someone passionate about education and inspiring young people.

Role requirements:

  • Working with pupils with special needs – Autism, ADHD, emotional needs.
  • Assisting with school work and daily tasks.
  • Offering literacy and numeracy interventions.
  • Helping within the wellbeing hub for pupils with social and emotional needs.
  • Incorporating your physical education background into daily lessons
  • Regular training courses provided throughout your placement.

  • Pupils aged 5- 11.

What the school are looking for:

  • Someone enthusiastic, caring and keen to learn.
  • Prior experience with additional needs a personal or professional level.
  • Minimum of GCSE C and above English and Maths, or equivalent (Degree or applicable qualification highly desirable).
  • Passionate about supporting pupils to enhance their futures and life outside of school.
  • A Teaching Assistant keen to develop and continue their career at the school.

This role is due to start Monday 8th April 2024 and will have potential of going permanent pending successful performance reviews. The school are looking for someone they can invest in and offer training opportunities.
