Teaching Personnel is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Burscough (L40).

This role is particularly suited to individuals who are building experience in SEN, exploring a career in education, or returning to school based work after a career break.


You will be supporting pupils with additional needs such as:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH needs
  • Speech, language and communication difficulties

Support is typically provided on a 1:1 or small group basis, with clear guidance from class teachers and SENCOs.


  • Clear routines and expectations
  • Opportunities to observe experienced staff
  • Gradual increase in responsibility as confidence grows
  • Supportive school environments familiar with supply staff

  • Experience working with children or young people (professional or personal)
  • A calm, patient and proactive approach
  • Willingness to learn SEN strategies on the job
  • An Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply

  • Hourly pay between £14.25 and £15.50
