Sports Teaching Assistant needed at a Secondary School

Teaching Personnel are working with a Secondary School in Central Manchester, who are looking for a Sports Teaching Assistant to join their team in September, until the end of the academic year (July 2025).

The school is based in Stretford, and is surrounded by various public transport options, including bus routes and tram links, which go in and out of the city centre. However, there is a staff car park that is easily accessible. The working hours for this role are 8:00am – 3:00pm.

The role itself will involve supporting teachers across the PE Department of the school and it is essential that candidates are approachable and outgoing in order to connect with students from a variety of backgrounds.

Applicants should have confidence in their ability to work 1:1 and with smaller groups of students. It is essential that candidates are flexible and organised so that they can offer high levels of support to encourage students who are passionate about sport. It would be beneficial for applicants to have previous experience supporting students or young adults.

All applicants will require appropriate qualifications/experience and the Right to Work in the UK in order to be considered for this role. In addition, applicants must have an enhanced DBS (or be willing to pay for an updated one) and provide an Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and 2 professional references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
