Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, starting in September, for a variety of local secondary schools in Middlesbrough.

Are you a recent Sports graduate with a passion for working with young people? This is a fantastic opportunity to put your degree to use in a real classroom setting, build your confidence and skills, and make a genuine difference to students' engagement, wellbeing, and achievement, with long-term potential for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Support the delivery of engaging PE and sports-based lessons across key stages
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support student progress
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to support students with varying needs
  • Support behaviour management and contribute to a focused, respectful classroom atmosphere
  • Help facilitate extracurricular sport and activity where opportunities arise

Who We’re Looking For

  • A Sports, PE, Sport Science, or related degree (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
  • A genuine passion for sport and working with young people
  • Previous school, coaching, or youth-based experience is desirable but not essential
  • An understanding of SEND needs (such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH) is advantageous
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one, along with satisfactory background screening

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
