About the Role

Are you an enthusiastic, energetic, and dedicated Sports Coach looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a committed Sports Coach to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play a key role in encouraging students to participate in physical activity, develop their sporting skills, and build confidence. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about sport who wants to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate sports activities for students.
  • Lead individual and team-based activities across a range of sports and physical activities.
  • Support students in developing their sporting abilities, fitness, coordination, teamwork, and confidence.
  • Work with students across a range of abilities, adapting activities to meet individual needs where appropriate.
  • Encourage students to participate positively in physical activity and develop a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Provide support and encouragement to students, promoting teamwork, respect, discipline, and positive behaviour.
  • Organise and supervise sports activities during PE lessons, break times, lunchtimes, clubs, and extracurricular sessions.
  • Assist teachers with the planning and delivery of PE lessons and sporting activities where required.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of school sports clubs, competitions, fixtures, and events.
  • Monitor students' participation, progress, behaviour, and engagement, providing feedback to relevant staff where appropriate.
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that encourages students to participate and enjoy physical activity.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, encouraging confidence, resilience, and teamwork.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, PE staff, teaching assistants, and the wider school team.
  • Assist with the preparation, organisation, and safe use of sports equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for sport, physical activity, and supporting young people's development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • The ability to motivate and encourage students of different ages, abilities, and confidence levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver engaging activities effectively.
  • A proactive, energetic, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • The ability to promote positive behaviour, teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.
  • A commitment to inclusion and ensuring all students have the opportunity to participate and develop their skills.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
