Teaching Assistant

The sports assistant will work full-time with a Croydon School to assist with the delivery of physical education and school sport. 

The role will commence from May 2024.

This is only one role to be based across one Secondary provision  in Croydon. 

Roles and Responsibilities within this role:

-       Provide high quality sports coaching before, during and after school to help raise attainment and fitness as well as extending the children’s knowledge of healthy eating and diet.

-       Improve competitive sport provision across school and improve links with local schools.

-       Assist with improvement of staff development within the area of Physical Education and School Sport, leading after school INSET sessions and observing Physical Education sessions on a weekly basis.

-       To contribute to the overall ethos of the school and ensure all the children are happy and safe in school.

This is a good opportunity for any aspiring Secondary PE Teacher. You will work under the leadership of an SLT member in school and received half termly reviews.

In order to be considered for this role you must have experience of working alongside children in a Secondary setting; have experience in delivering sports and PE sessions as well as holding a relevant Sports Coaching/PE Studies Degree.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
