Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a primary school in Blackpool. The school are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across their EYFS with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) starting in May 2024 or earlier pending availability. The successful candidate children across the Nursery and Reception who need assistance with language support on a 1:1 basis. The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will be dedicated to creating a purposeful learning environment for all children by adapting teaching and learning techniques at all times.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the schools SENCO to adapt and develop EHCPS to aid the children’s academic progression. The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to assess progress continually and feedback to class teachers, the schools SENCO and parents.

The position is to work in a larger than average, primary school in Blackpool. The school is dedicated to continually supporting learning and celebrating individual’s progress. The school has high levels of SEN and requires a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full time basis!

This SLCN Teaching Assistant post will start in May 2024 and will run for the remainder of this academic year with the opportunity to work onto a school based contract.  

The ideal candidate will have;

-          Relevant experience of working with children with SLCN.

-          A patient and sensitive approach to supporting learning.

-          A motivational attitude to encourage disadvantaged learners.

-          Experience of SLCN and phonic schemes will be advantageous.

You may also be required to adapt the National Curriculum to meet the needs of pupils who have SLCN and are non attenders of mainstream education and devising Individual Education Plans to reflect their developmental needs.

This is a ‘GOOD’ primary school with an ‘OUTSTANDING’ management and leadership team so the successful candidate will receive all the necessary support they need to settle into the role. The school are seeking a teaching assistant who will fit well into their SEN team and will follow the schools ‘warm and welcoming’ ethos.  The school are looking to short list for this post ASAP. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
