Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Specialist Teaching Assistants to provide flexible supply cover across a number of specialist SEN and SEMH provisions throughout the Wareham area.

We work closely with a variety of educational settings supporting pupils with diverse additional needs, creating opportunities for skilled support professionals who enjoy varied assignments and the flexibility that supply work can offer. These positions are ideal for candidates looking to utilise their expertise across multiple provisions while maintaining control over their availability.

As schools continue to require both planned and short-notice cover, we are seeking individuals who can confidently integrate into established teams and make an immediate positive contribution from the moment they arrive. These opportunities are anticipated to begin in September 2026, although earlier placements may be available.

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with complex additional needs.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions.
  • Support learners with autism, communication difficulties, social and emotional needs, and other SEND requirements.
  • Encourage participation and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Assist with behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Promote independence and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and therapeutic teams.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
  • Record observations and provide feedback where required.

Due to the ad-hoc nature of supply work, applicants must be able to hit the ground running.

  • Previous experience within SEN, SEMH or specialist education.
  • Strong behaviour support skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Confidence adapting to different settings.
  • A calm and resilient approach.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
  • Flexible part-time work around your schedule.
  • Opportunities across a variety of SEN and SEMH provisions.
  • Competitive pay of £14.25 per hour.
  • Dedicated consultant support.
  • Access to local assignments.
