SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Atherton)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a primary school in Atherton is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism and complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to making a genuine impact on a child’s day-to-day school experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with the pupil to support their learning, social interaction, and emotional development, helping them to engage positively within the classroom environment. You will implement personalised strategies in line with the child’s needs, support communication and relationship-building, and work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to follow EHCP targets. Creating a consistent, safe, and nurturing environment will be key to ensuring the pupil can thrive both academically and socially.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with SEN, particularly autism, and demonstrate a calm, understanding, and resilient approach. Strong communication skills, the ability to build positive relationships, and experience supporting social interaction needs are essential. In return, the school offers a supportive SEN team, ongoing guidance and training, and a positive working environment, with the potential for this role to become long-term.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
