Specialist ICT Teacher - SEMH and Trauma Informed Setting

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £145 - £210 (Paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, depending on experience) + Holiday pay

Academics is an agency recruiting for a Specialist ICT Teacher to work within a SEMH and Trauma informed setting where students present SEMH needs in addition to some non-verbal students in Doncaster. This is an exceptionally important role in enabling engagement and education for some of the most vulnerable children in the Education and Training sector.

The role:

The role is for a Speacialist ICT teacher working in an independent SEMH and Trauma informed setting in Doncaster. The setting has a bespoke curriculum, involving forest schools and drumming with purpose-built cabins to cater for sensory learning when required. Planning is required. Education and Training

A Specialist ICT Teacher will work within multi-disciplinary teams with very small class sizes, there are a total of 15 pupils on site, with ages ranging from 6 to 16 years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons
• Adapt learning to meet EHCP targets
• Support pupils with a range of SEN including ASC, ADHD and SEMH
• Promote positive behaviour and independence
• Work collaboratively with support staff and therapists
• Follow safeguarding procedures
• Maintain a calm, consistent and nurturing environment

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Previous SEN teaching experience or strong knowledge of specialist education
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and additional learning needs
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to commute to Doncaster
