Teaching Personnel are working with an excellent Secondary School based in Braintree who are seeking a Spanish Teacher to support them from September 2024.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish Teacher to join our team and inspire students to become proficient Spanish speakers and global citizens.

As a Spanish Teacher, you will have the opportunity to engage and inspire students through the exploration of the Spanish language, literature, and culture. You will be responsible for designing and implementing effective and engaging Spanish language curriculum that meets the needs and interests of students at various proficiency levels. In addition to teaching language skills, you will have the opportunity to expose students to the richness and diversity of Spanish-speaking cultures and promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive and engaging Spanish language curriculum that aligns with proficiency standards and learning objectives.
  • Create a supportive and interactive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
  • Utilise a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to facilitate language learning and address diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Provide personalized instruction and support to help students develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.
  • Integrate authentic cultural materials, literature, and multimedia resources into lessons to enhance students' understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures and societies.
  • Assess student progress and proficiency using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods and provide timely feedback to support student growth and achievement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning community where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to take risks and learn from mistakes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support the overall mission and goals of the school.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification / QTS
  • Previous teaching experience at secondary level (preferred).
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and a strong command of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
  • Passion for teaching and a genuine interest in Spanish language, literature, and culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
