Sociology Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join a Good school in Milton Keynes on a full-time, fixed-term basis for the entire 2026/27 academic year, starting in October 2026. The successful candidate will teach Sociology at GCSE and A-Level and will also undertake pastoral responsibilities.

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Sociology lessons that inspire and challenge students.
• Teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5, preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
• Provide effective pastoral support, promoting students' wellbeing and personal development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop the curriculum and share best practice.
• Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and wider school activities.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and academic achievement.

• Ability to teach Sociology at KS4 and KS5.
• A degree in Sociology or a related subject.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
