Mainstream Secondary School – Accrington, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Approximately 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Permanent, Full-Time

A well-established secondary school in Accrington is seeking a reliable, hands-on Site Supervisor to join the premises team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and proactive individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented school environment. The successful candidate will be a skilled handyperson with the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance and site duties.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Opening and securing the school premises each day.
  • Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks.
  • Ensuring the school site, grounds and buildings are safe, secure and well maintained.
  • Undertaking routine health and safety checks.
  • Monitoring site security and reporting any concerns.
  • Assisting with contractor management and site access.
  • Setting up rooms and facilities for school events and activities.
  • Supporting with grounds maintenance and general upkeep of the school environment.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance issues as they arise.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is practical, trustworthy and highly dependable.
  • Has previous experience in a site supervisor, caretaker, maintenance or facilities role.
  • Possesses good DIY and general repair skills.
  • Can work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Has a strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
  • Communicates well with staff, students, visitors and contractors.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards across the school site.
