The start of a new academic year is often the best time to join a new school. Teams are being finalised, pupils are preparing to return and specialist provisions across East Sussex are looking for dedicated educators to strengthen their staff teams.

I'm currently supporting a number of SEND and SEMH schools with recruitment for September and have opportunities available for both experienced professionals and those looking to begin a rewarding career within specialist education.

Current vacancies include:

  • SEND Teachers
  • SEMH Teachers
  • Teaching Assistants
  • Learning Support Assistants
  • Behaviour Mentors
  • 1:1 Learning Support
  • Pastoral and Intervention Staff

Across both primary and secondary specialist settings throughout East Sussex.

Qualifications and experience are valuable, but schools consistently tell me they're equally looking for people who:

  • Build positive relationships with young people
  • Bring patience, resilience and consistency every day
  • Work well as part of a wider team
  • Stay calm when faced with challenging situations
  • Believe every pupil deserves the opportunity to succeed

Many successful educators come from mainstream education, youth work, residential care, coaching or mentoring backgrounds.

Recruiting early gives you the best opportunity to find a school that genuinely suits you.

It also gives us time to complete safeguarding checks, discuss your preferences and introduce you to schools before September becomes particularly busy.

  • Opportunities across East Sussex
  • Immediate and September starts
  • Long-term, permanent and flexible positions
  • Teaching roles paid to scale
  • Teaching Assistant opportunities from £92.60 per day
  • Ongoing support throughout your placement

An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service is required. If you don't currently hold one, we'll support you through the application process.

As part of safeguarding, we'll also require references covering a total of 24 months of employment history
