Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (M1-UPS3)** per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Our new specialist school is set to open in late 2026, offering a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational environment for children and young people aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With capacity for 72 students, our mission is to create a safe and enriching setting where every learner is supported to achieve their full potential.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCo to lead and champion our provision for students with complex special educational needs.

This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a new specialist setting from the ground up. You will work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals to ensure high-quality, personalised support for every student.

As SENDCo, you will:

• Lead and promote an inclusive, whole-school approach to SEND
• Oversee the Annual Review process and EHCP coordination
• Work closely with external agencies and professionals
• Support and develop staff through training and guidance
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of SEN teaching and learning
• Lead assessment, data tracking, and reporting for SEND
• Deliver CPD and INSET on best practice in SEND
• Contribute to strategic planning and school improvement

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE (or equivalent)
• A SENDCo qualification, or willingness to achieve this within 3 years
• Proven experience working with pupils with SEND (ideally in a specialist setting)
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
• A collaborative, creative and child-centred approach
