About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional SENDCo to lead our provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, compassionate and highly skilled practitioner who is passionate about inclusion and ensuring that every student can achieve their full potential.

As SENDCo, you will be a key part of the leadership and pastoral team, driving high‑quality support and shaping the strategic direction of SEND across the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the SEND department, ensuring effective support for all students with additional needs.
• Oversee the identification, assessment and monitoring of students with SEND.
• Coordinate the work of teaching assistants, specialist staff, and external agencies.
• Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
• Develop high‑quality intervention programmes and monitor their impact.
• Provide staff training and guidance on inclusive teaching strategies.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records, including EHCPs, provision maps and SEND reviews.
• Champion a whole‑school culture of inclusion, wellbeing and equal opportunity.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Is an experienced teacher with the National Award for SENDCo (or willingness to complete it).
• Has strong knowledge of SEND legislation, inclusive practice, and effective intervention strategies.
• Is highly organised, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Demonstrates empathy, resilience, and a commitment to supporting vulnerable learners.
• Can inspire colleagues and contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
