SENDCo - Part Time - Beaconsfield
Make a difference. Lead with purpose. Shape inclusive practice.
We are looking for an experienced and committed SENDCo to join the team for two days per week.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and wants to make a meaningful difference to children and families. You will play a key role in developing high-quality SEND provision, supporting colleagues and ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to succeed.
The Role
As SENDCo, you will provide strategic leadership alongside hands-on support, ensuring that SEND provision is effective, responsive and rooted in the needs of individual pupils.
You will:
Lead and coordinate day-to-day SEND provision across the school.
Support teachers to identify needs, implement appropriate strategies and follow the graduated approach.
Develop, monitor and evaluate interventions to ensure they have a positive impact.
Work collaboratively with external professionals and agencies.
Lead and coordinate EHCP applications, annual reviews and consultations.
Ensure the school meets its statutory responsibilities under the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act.
Keep SEND policies, systems and records up to date.
Work closely with senior leaders and governors to evaluate and continually improve SEND provision.
You will ideally have:
Qualified Teacher Status and experience of teaching in a primary setting.
Successful experience working as a SENDCo.
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and the Equality Act.
Experience working effectively with families, external agencies and governors.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A calm, positive and solution-focused approach to behaviour and inclusion.
Experience of developing and improving SEND provision.
The confidence to lead, support and appropriately challenge colleagues.
A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and pupil and staff wellbeing.
A reflective and resilient approach, with a genuine commitment to continued professional development.
A recognised SENDCo qualification would be desirable, although we will also consider candidates with strong relevant experience and a clear strategic approach to SEND leadership.
