Are you an experienced SEND Teacher or Tutor passionate about supporting children and young people with complex additional needs?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is seeking compassionate and committed 1:1 Complex Needs SEND Tutors to deliver personalised tuition to pupils across Peterborough.

Tuition takes place in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative education settings during school hours, supporting learners with complex SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD, SLD, communication difficulties, and other additional learning needs.

  • Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each learner's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and individual needs
  • Adapt lessons and teaching methods to effectively support pupils with complex SEND
  • Create engaging, inclusive learning experiences that foster academic, social, and emotional development
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools, and local authorities
  • Monitor learner progress and complete detailed session reports after each tuition session
  • Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation techniques where appropriate
  • At least two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience
  • Demonstrable experience supporting pupils with complex SEND needs
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and differentiated teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, SLD, MLD, or communication and sensory needs
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or reliable means of travel between tuition locations
  • Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or other recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support, sensory strategies, and trauma-informed approaches
  • Experience delivering tuition in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative provisions
