Are you a caring, patient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Blackburn? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school, providing tailored support to a pupil with additional needs.

This rewarding role will involve working closely with teaching staff to help promote engagement, learning and emotional wellbeing within the classroom environment.

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 classroom support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Assist with the delivery of learning activities and interventions
  • Support the pupil's social, emotional and academic development
  • Encourage independence and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other school staff
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback where appropriate
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Classroom Support Assistant
  • Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Competitive pay rate of £14.25 - £16.00 per hour
