A welcoming mainstream primary school in Darwen is seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within its specialist resource provision.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and adapted learning activities.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SEND professionals.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support strategies.
  • Previous SEND or SEN support experience.
  • Experience within a primary school setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Calm, patient, and proactive attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
  • £14.25 - £16.00 per hour.
  • Autumn Term placement with potential continuation.
