SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Wigan & Warrington
Start Date: September/October 2026
Contract: Full-time

A number of primary schools across Wigan and Warrington are seeking compassionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs.

This role involves working closely with children who may have a range of needs including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties, providing tailored support to help them thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting with learning activities tailored to individual needs
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (school or care background)
  • A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
