An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND classroom within a mainstream primary school in Darwen.

This ongoing position offers stability and the chance to work closely with pupils who require additional support to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Support teachers in delivering differentiated learning activities.
  • Assist with individual education plans and intervention programmes.
  • Foster positive relationships and encourage pupil confidence.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school, childcare, or care setting.
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • £14.25 - £16.00 per hour.
