We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Darwen for the Autumn Term 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop important life skills, and build confidence within the classroom.

  • Support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis.
  • Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
  • Promote inclusion and participation in classroom activities.
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Contribute to a positive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Experience in education, childcare, youth work, or care settings.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
