Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a primary school setting? We are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Blackburn for the Autumn Term 2026.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Assist children with a range of additional learning, communication, and behavioural needs.
  • Support the delivery of individual learning plans and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENDCOs to promote pupil progress.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Passion for supporting children with SEND.
  • Competitive pay rates of £14.25 - £16.00 per hour.
