SEND Teaching Assistant – Blackburn Role

length: Temp to perm, starting September 2026

Pay rate: £14.25–£16.00 per hour

A mainstream primary school in Blackburn is seeking a committed and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temp‑to‑perm basis from September 2026. This role is based within the school’s dedicated resource provision, supporting pupils with ASC and helping them access learning in a structured, nurturing environment.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. Your role will involve:

• Delivering targeted 1:1 and small‑group support

• Implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour plans

• Supporting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation

• Helping pupils engage positively with classroom activities

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

• Creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly ASC
