A supportive primary school in Blackburn is seeking a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who require additional support. This summer‑term role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver tailored support, helping pupils access the curriculum and develop confidence in their learning. The school is committed to inclusive practice and ensuring every child feels valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one‑to‑one and small‑group SEND support

  • Implementing EHCP targets and adapting resources

  • Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing

  • Encouraging independence and positive learning habits

  • Working collaboratively with staff and parents

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEND

  • A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach

  • Strong understanding of inclusive strategies

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
