About the Role
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll provide personalised and engaging learning experiences that support students with additional needs to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEND.
- Teach and support students across a range of abilities and additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and complex learning difficulties.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to achieve their potential.
- Adapt teaching strategies, resources, and activities to meet individual learning needs and promote engagement.
- Monitor, assess, and record students' progress, using assessment information to inform planning and provide targeted support.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, parents, and other professionals to ensure students receive appropriate support.
- Support the implementation of EHCP targets and individual learning plans, contributing to students' academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, independence, communication, and social skills.
- Differentiate learning effectively to ensure all students can access the curriculum and make progress.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and professional conduct at all times.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of SEND provision and strategies for supporting individual learners.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting students with a range of needs.
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping every student achieve their potential.
- An understanding of EHCPs, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
