Teaching Personnel are working an small SEN provision based in Sunderland. They are seeking a full time Teacher to support a small class of pupils with SEND needs, this includes children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and those with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) including Asperger’s Syndrome.  

A successful candidate must provide the following

  • Must hold an enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one
  • PGCE with QTS 
  • Confident in teaching functional  skills
  • Patient and Reliable
  • Primary School experience
  • Experience working with people with SEN / Disabilities / Care/youth Worker
  • be confident supporting children and young people.

Roles / responsibilities

  • Plan and creative engaging and exciting lessons/activities 
  • Support pupils to engage in their work and regulate any challenging behaviours
  • Liaise with parents and staff 
  • Manage classroom behaviour 
  • Provide instruction and guidance to support staff when needed

This role is due to commence ASAP and will be required until the end of the academic year, with the potential of being extended. Due to the role being required on a long term basis, we are able to negotiate your daily rate on your behalf, starting from £150.00 per day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
