Smile Education are thrilled to be working alongside a busy primary school located in north Birmingham. We are currently seeking a SEND Teacher, available from September 2024.

We are currently seeking a SEND Teacher, available from September 2024 until the end of the academic year. The successful applicant will be working on a part-time basis, 3 days per week, and supporting pupils as part- of the school’s Resource Base. Within this role you will be supporting small groups of children outside of the classroom, within the school’s specially adapted resource base. Applicants should be confident in their ability to work with pupils with SEND, including ASD and SEMH needs. You will be working with pupils across both KS1 and KS2, providing special support and intervention work. 

This is a part-time role, working 3 days per week, Qualified Teachers who have prior experience in supporting pupils with SEND are encouraged to apply. The school is located in north Birmingham, within proximity to Washwood Heath, Ward End, and Hodgehill. The expected salary range for this role is between £140- 190 per day, depending on experience level.

What to expect from applicants?

We would like applicants to hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experienced Class Teachers are encouraged to apply. However, ECT’s with a proven background in supporting pupils with SEND are also encouraged to apply.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

-        Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

-        Confident in supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, ASD and SEMH needs

-        Comfortable working on a Resource Base outside of the classroom with small groups and on a 1:1 basis where required
