These roles involve working closely with young people who may need more structure, patience and guidance to access education successfully. Schools are looking for staff who can bring a calm, steady presence into the classroom and build positive, professional relationships with pupils.

We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and classroom support staff across a range of SEND and SEMH settings.

  • Helping pupils regulate behaviour and stay engaged
  • Working within clear behaviour and support frameworks
  • Building trust and consistency with pupils
  • Supporting teachers and wider staff teams

These roles can be challenging at times, but are also highly rewarding for individuals who enjoy making a difference.

This type of role works well for individuals who:

  • Are calm, patient and emotionally consistent
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with young people
  • Are confident setting boundaries and maintaining structure
  • Have experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, sport, etc.)
  • Are interested in developing experience within SEND or SEMH education

Previous SEND experience is beneficial but not essential. The right attitude and reliability are key.

  • Opportunities across East Sussex SEND and SEMH schools
  • Flexible roles, as well as longer-term placements
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
  • Access to training and CPD opportunities
  • A chance to build meaningful experience within specialist education

  • Roles available across East Sussex
  • Immediate and upcoming opportunities
  • Pay: £89.38 per day
  • A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required

If you do not currently hold one, you will need to apply for a DBS through us.
We will support you through the process, though the cost is covered by the applicant.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
