Some roles in education are about routine.

Others are about impact.

SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex are looking for educators and support staff who can bring consistency, patience and a steady presence into the classroom — people who understand that progress often comes through relationships, not quick wins.

We’re recruiting across a range of settings for:

  • SEND and SEMH teaching roles
  • Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant positions
  • 1:1 and small group support
  • Behaviour and engagement-focused roles
  • Short-term, long-term and ongoing opportunities

Across both primary and secondary schools.

Pupils in these settings often need:

  • Clear structure and boundaries
  • Support with emotional regulation
  • Adults who remain calm under pressure
  • Time to build trust

It’s not always easy — but it is meaningful.

This role tends to suit people who:

  • Are calm, patient and reliable
  • Build strong relationships over time
  • Don’t take behaviour personally
  • Are interested in SEND or SEMH education

Experience helps, but mindset matters more.

  • Roles across East Sussex
  • Immediate and upcoming opportunities
  • Teaching roles paid to scale
  • TA / LSA roles paid at £92.60 per day
  • A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required

If you don’t have one, you’ll need to apply — support provided, cost covered by the applicant.
