Hours:  Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through outdoor learning and hands-on experiences?

Teaching Personnel is seeking caring, enthusiastic, and committed SEND Outdoor Learning Support Assistants to support pupils in schools across Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

The Role

As a SEND Outdoor Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 and small-group support during outdoor learning sessions.
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans within practical learning environments.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and active engagement through outdoor education.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, communication skills, and behaviour regulation.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support.

About You

We are looking for individuals who have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential).
• Transferable experience from sectors such as care, youth work, outdoor education, coaching, or family SEND support.
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children succeed and thrive.
