Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Full-time SEN Tutor with QTS.

We are seeking a passionate and qualified teacher to join our team as a Vocational, Life Skills, and Employability Teacher on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education and support to our students, leading small group interventions for groups of students with autism and complex learning difficulties.

The setting is a Special Educational Needs (SEN) college for students 16-18 years old, dedicated to providing exceptional educational opportunities for students with diverse learning needs and committed to fostering independence, personal growth, and preparing our students for success in their future endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging lessons and workshops focused on vocational skills such as cooking, CV writing, handcrafting, arts, life skills, and employability.
  • Lead small group interventions for groups of students with autism and complex learning difficulties, providing tailored support and guidance.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and progress.
  • Stay updated on relevant educational trends, best practices, and curriculum developments in the field of vocational and life skills education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with autism and complex learning difficulties, preferably in a vocational or life skills education setting desirable.
  • Strong understanding of vocational education, life skills development, and employability training.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo this process).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
