A supportive and forward-thinking specialist education provider is looking for a dedicated SEN Tutor in Rushden to deliver personalised education to learners with a range of additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD and other additional needs.

As an SEN Tutor, you'll deliver personalised 1:1 and small-group tuition, creating engaging lessons that are tailored to each learner's individual needs, interests, abilities and learning style.



Key Responsibility fo an SEN TUtor in Rushden:

  • Deliver engaging, personalised lessons based on individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support learners with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, dyslexia, trauma-related needs and other additional needs.
  • Provide effective 1:1 and small-group tuition.
  • Plan and deliver differentiated learning activities that motivate and engage learners.
  • Monitor, assess and accurately record learner progress.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
  • Create a calm, safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Encourage confidence, resilience, independence and positive attitudes towards education.
  • Identify and overcome barriers to learning through flexible and creative teaching approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals to provide consistent support.

The ideal SEN Tutor will have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • A strong understanding of additional learning needs and effective SEN strategies.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition, intervention or personalised learning is desirable.
  • The ability to adapt your teaching style to suit different needs and learning profiles.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • QTS, tutoring experience, HLTA status or relevant education experience is desirable.
  • The ability to commute to Rushden and work effectively within the local area.
