SEN Tutor

We are looking for committed and experienced tutors in the Bracknell area who are ready to take on a role that goes beyond academic teaching.

If you're an educator who understands that some young people need more than a lesson plan—they need consistency, patience, and someone who truly understands their challenges—this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

The majority of our referrals are secondary-aged pupils with SEMH and other complex needs.

Many of the students you will support:

• Have struggled in mainstream education
• May be out of school or following reduced timetables
• Require structured, calm, and consistent support to help rebuild their confidence

This role is about helping young people reconnect with learning at a pace that works for them, while providing clear structure and direction.

To be considered, you must be able to commit to:

• A minimum of 10–15 hours per week
• Core working hours between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm
• Availability Monday to Friday

Consistency and reliability are essential, as our students benefit from routine and predictable support.

We place a strong emphasis on professionalism and effective communication.

As a tutor, you will be expected to:

• Accurately record and report attendance
• Monitor and document both academic and emotional progress
• Provide clear feedback that can be shared with schools and other professionals involved in the student's support
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and record-keeping

Your reports help inform wider decisions, including school planning and external agency reviews, so attention to detail is essential.

We welcome applications from tutors with experience in:

• Mainstream or specialist schools
• Alternative provision
• Private tuition
• Pastoral or youth-based roles

We're particularly looking for tutors who can demonstrate:

• Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy
• Experience supporting students with SEMH or other complex needs
• Confidence working independently
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Resilience and emotional intelligence

Success in this role isn't always measured by test results.

Sometimes, progress means:

• A student engaging positively without conflict
• Completing work they would previously have refused
• Rebuilding trust with a supportive adult

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
