We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school. The successful candidate will work closely with an individual pupil, providing tailored support to meet their specific educational, social, emotional, and communication needs. • Provide support during lessons, transitions, break times, lunchtimes, outdoor activities, and school trips where required.
  • Help create a safe, structured, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that meets the pupil's individual needs.
  • Support the pupil with personal care, hygiene, and mobility needs where appropriate and in accordance with school policies.
  • Monitor, observe, and record the pupil's progress, behaviour, engagement, and development, sharing relevant information with the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Follow individual risk assessments, behaviour support plans, and other relevant school procedures.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, behaviour, and confidentiality.
  • Take part in relevant training, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting children with SEN.

Requirements

  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, with a commitment to promoting pupils' safety and well-being.
  • A commitment to inclusion, equality, and ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential, depending on the school's requirements.
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

What We Offer

  • Flexible working to suit your availability.
  • Dedicated education consultants who understand your career goals.
  • Refer a Friend scheme – earn up to £150 collectively.
  • Access to training and professional development opportunities.
