SEN Teaching Assistant - West Drayton

An experienced SEN Teaching Assistant is required to join a specialist SEN school in West Drayton, supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC) and severe learning difficulties.

The school provides a supportive, nurturing environment with specialist sensory and therapeutic facilities, alongside a strong focus on helping pupils maximise their potential.

The successful candidate will have:

• Significant experience supporting children or young people with ASC and/or severe learning difficulties.
• A good understanding of SEN strategies, including visual timetables, sensory approaches and augmentative communication.
• A calm, caring and consistent approach to supporting pupils.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection within specialist settings.

Desirable:

• Team Teach or other positive behaviour management training.
• Experience using PECS, Makaton or AAC.
• Previous experience working within a specialist SEN school.
