SEN Teaching Assistant New

Longridge (PR3)
£14.25 per hour
8:45am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: November 2026

Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs and want to make a lasting impact in a primary school setting?

A friendly and well-regarded primary school in Longridge is looking to appoint a committed SEN Support Assistant to join their team from November. This is a full-time opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with pupils and helping children overcome barriers to learning.

You will be working closely with pupils who require additional support in order to access the curriculum and fully engage in school life. Every day will be different, and you will play an important role in helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Helping children remain focused and engaged during lessons.
• Supporting communication, confidence, and independence.
• Assisting teachers in adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing school expectations.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the school's SEND team.

✅ Has previous experience supporting children in a classroom setting.
✅ Understands the importance of inclusive education and pupil wellbeing.
✅ Is patient, resilient, and able to build strong relationships.
✅ Can adapt their approach to meet the needs of individual learners.
✅ Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
