Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Penwortham from November 2026.

This rewarding role will involve providing dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

  • Providing classroom-based support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups to support academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
  • Implementing strategies and interventions to help pupils remain focused and engaged.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils with their individual learning targets.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to promote successful outcomes.
  • Previous experience supporting children within a school or educational setting is essential.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
  • A caring, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Competitive pay rate of £14.25 per hour.
  • Full-time hours with a consistent Monday to Friday schedule.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
