PMLD Specialist Teaching Assistant - Uxbridge

We are delighted to be partnering with an Outstanding Specialist College based in Uxbridge, committed to enhancing the lives of young people and adults with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.

The college caters to learners with diverse needs, including profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), complex communication needs, behavioural challenges, and specific medical conditions. Each learner follows a personalised learning programme designed to support their individual goals, encourage independence, and help them engage more fully with their community.

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with PMLD experience to join a supportive and committed team. In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of engaging, inclusive learning activities, tailored to meet both individual and group needs. You will play a key part in helping students access learning and develop independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing individual learning plans and adapting resources to suit student needs.
  • Provide support with communication, mobility, and personal care where required.
  • Help monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage student participation, engagement, and development.
  • Ensure all learning materials and equipment are safe and appropriate for use.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs.
  • Experience supporting learners with PMLD is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Be based in or within a reasonable commuting distance of Uxbridge.

If you are passionate about supporting learners with complex needs and want to be part of a team that truly makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
