Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Worthing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Helping to implement individual support and learning plans.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils to engage positively with classroom activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about working with children and young people.
  • Patient, empathetic and understanding.
  • Confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • A strong communicator and team player.
  • Reliable, adaptable and committed to making a difference.
  • Ideally experienced in an educational, care or SEN setting, although relevant transferable experience will also be considered.

Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties or complex learning needs would be advantageous.
