Are you a patient and nurturing Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1-1 role? We are working with a welcoming primary school in North Somerset who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1-1 support to a child with additional needs.

This is a great opportunity for someone with SEN experience who can bring a calm, consistent and encouraging approach to help a child thrive in their learning and grow in confidence throughout the school year.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a primary aged pupil with additional needs
  • Helping the child access classroom learning and remain engaged with activities
  • Supporting transitions, daily routines and tasks throughout the school day
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
  • Supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress
  • Creating a calm, structured and nurturing environment for the child

We Are Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting (essential)
  • A calm, patient and reassuring approach
  • Someone who enjoys being active and spending time outdoors
  • A sporty or outdoorsy personality would suit this role well
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Ability to stay positive and composed in challenging situations
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
