Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with pupils with Autism, Additional Learning Needs, or complex needs within primary, secondary, or specialist education settings?

Teaching Personnel's specialist SEN team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism in Dereham and the surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with Autism and additional needs, working closely with teaching staff to ensure each student receives the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.

  • Support pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis in line with their EHCP targets.
  • Implement personalised interventions to meet individual learning and developmental needs.
  • Adapt classroom activities and learning materials to support a range of abilities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Assist with social, emotional, and academic development both in and out of the classroom.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced working with children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism.
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to making a positive difference.
  • Confident managing challenging behaviours and supporting emotional regulation.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a variety of educational settings.
  • A strong communicator who works well as part of a team.
  • Willing to undertake relevant training and continuous professional development.
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel throughout Dereham and the surrounding areas is essential for this role.
  • Access to high-quality training through Teaching Personnel's CPD Academy.
  • Competitive weekly pay based on your experience, skills, and availability.
  • Convenient online tools for timesheets and administration.
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated SEN specialist consultant.
  • Opportunities to gain valuable experience across a range of specialist settings.
  • The chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

If you're ready to use your skills and passion to support pupils with Autism in Dereham and the surrounding communities, we'd love to hear from you.
