We are working with a specialist school in the Thetford area, supporting pupils with a range of complex and additional needs. The school takes a highly personalised approach to education, recognising that every student has different strengths, challenges and individual outcomes.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, develop independence and build essential life skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Supporting personalised learning and development strategies based on each student's individual needs.
• Helping pupils develop communication, emotional regulation and social skills.
• Supporting the development of functional literacy, numeracy and essential life skills.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.
• Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours, using positive and consistent approaches.
• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
• Encouraging peer relationships, community participation and positive interactions.
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure students receive consistent support.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this position.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in, or passionate about, supporting children or young people with SEN and additional needs.
• Caring, patient and compassionate, with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for students.
• Confident supporting pupils with complex learning needs and behaviours that may present challenges.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to individual student needs.
• Resilient and calm when working in demanding situations.
• A confident communicator who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Willing to undertake relevant training and continued professional development.
• A full UK driving licence holder.

Previous experience within a specialist SEN, SEND, residential, care or education setting would be highly beneficial.
